Launched in 2017 by the Lerner Foundation, The Aspirations Incubator is based on a set of Youth Programming Principles developed by Trekkers, a successful youth development organization in mid-coast Maine and former Lerner Foundation grantee.
The Aspirations Incubator model design is relationship-based and features (1) extended connection with young people from 7th grade through high school, (2) adult and peer mentoring, (3) close collaboration with local schools, (4) experiential learning, travel, and outdoor adventure, and (5) ongoing assessment.
The Aspirations Incubator uses PEAR's Clover Model and Holistic Student Assessment to inform its work, particularly around providing a comprehensive approach to youth programming strengths and needs.
